Now Hiring: Metal Finishing Technician 1st Shift

Schedule:
Monday Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Overtime: Potential on Fridays
Pay: $19 (based on experience)

Position Summary:
We re seeking a dedicated Metal Finishing Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for grinding, sanding, cleaning, and polishing metal parts to prepare surfaces for further processing or final finish. Ideal candidates will have a strong eye for detail, ability to work with hand and power tools, and thrive in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grind, sand, clean, or polish parts to correct defects or prepare for painting or final finish

  • Smooth metal surfaces and edges

  • Identify and mark product defects (cracks, splits) for the welding team

  • Mark workpieces with identifying information

  • Operate grinding and finishing equipment

  • Select proper abrasives based on materials, specifications, and finish requirements

  • Inspect finished parts for quality using measurements and templates

  • Follow blueprints and work instructions to determine proper processing steps

  • Record production and process information on job packets

  • Work efficiently to meet daily production goals

  • Move parts between workstations using hand jacks

  • Keep work areas clean and organized throughout and at end of shift

Qualifications:

  • Good manual dexterity and communication skills

  • Willingness to work overtime when scheduled

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

  • Ability to read and follow directions

  • Flexibility to assist in other areas of the shop as needed

  • High attention to detail and quality

  • Willing to train or assist less experienced coworkers

  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to full shift performance

Experience:

  • 2 years of metalwork experience, OR

  • 1-year certificate from a college or technical program, OR

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 1 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
