Location: Banning, CA
Pay Rate: $18 $22 per hour
Schedule: Full-time | M- F | 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Assignment Type: Temporary
Energy conservation Contractor is seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Billing Clerk to support billing, data entry, and customer service functions. This role requires strong accuracy, organization, and the ability to manage multiple systems and records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Gather and research information related to enrollments, work orders, warranties, and services using databases, spreadsheets, files, and online resources
Perform routine and high-volume data entry with a strong focus on accuracy
Verify billing data, identify errors, and make necessary revisions
Prepare itemized invoices, statements, and billing documents for services and purchases
Review purchase orders, rate sheets, and work orders to calculate fees and charges
Calculate terms, discounts, shipment charges, and rates as needed
Maintain, scan, upload, and file invoices and supporting documentation
Enter and track data related to installations, service work, warranties, appliance recycling, and duct testing
Maintain logs, reports, and records used for monitoring, tracking, and trending financial data
Contact customers or clients to obtain or clarify billing and account information
Respond to customer and client emails and assist in resolving billing or data discrepancies
Track invoicing status, exceptions, and service-level reporting
Collaborate with supervisors to resolve complex billing or customer issues
Duties may change based on business needs
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Required: One to three years of experience in an analytical, billing, or data-focused role, or three to five years of high-level administrative support experience
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent customer service skills with patience, empathy, and professionalism
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interact professionally with customers, clients, and internal teams
Basic math skills and strong keyboarding ability
Comfortable navigating multiple computer applications efficiently
Ability to learn new software and technology as introduced
Technical Skills
Proficient with general office software and databases
Ability to read and interpret business correspondence, policies, procedures, and warranty documents
Professional telephone etiquette required
QuickBooks experience is a plus
Industry experience preferred but not required
