CNC Machinist / CNC Programmer
Pay: $25.00+/Hour (Based on Experience)
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Position Type: Temporary Assignment
Shift: 1st Shift | Full-Time
Job Summary
Arrow Staffing is currently hiring an experienced CNC Machinist / CNC Programmer for a temporary assignment with one of our manufacturing clients in the Grand Rapids area. This position is ideal for a skilled machinist with experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment in a precision manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate CNC mills, lathes, and Bridgeport machines.
Create and edit CNC programs using Mastercam software.
Read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD drawings and blueprints.
Set machine offsets, tool lengths, fixtures, vises, chucks, and cutting tools.
Determine appropriate feeds, speeds, and machining strategies.
Produce precision-machined parts while maintaining tight tolerances.
Perform machine setups, tool changes, and minor machine adjustments.
Inspect completed parts to ensure quality standards are met.
Troubleshoot machining and programming issues.
Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines and tooling.
Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean work area.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 3 years of CNC machining and programming experience preferred.
Mastercam experience is required.
Experience operating CNC mills and lathes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD files.
Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and precision measurement.
Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Physical Requirements
Stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday.
Frequently lift up to 10 pounds.
Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
Safely operate material handling equipment when needed.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with moving machinery and moderate to loud noise levels.
