Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Associate

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Schedule:

  • 9:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. or

  • 10:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m.

Please note: This schedule is fixed and not flexible, as earlier shifts are already staffed.

Position Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for coordinating and executing daily shipping, receiving, and material handling activities. This role ensures accurate documentation, safe handling of materials, timely communication with vendors and internal teams, and proper movement of goods between warehouse and manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trucks using a forklift

    • Includes docked trailers loaded/unloaded indoors

    • Flatbed trailers with raw materials unloaded outdoors

  • Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, shipping orders, packing slips, weights, and dimensions

  • Package goods for shipment or storage in accordance with company standards

  • Send purchase orders from the ERP system to vendors

  • Communicate with vendors regarding delivery schedules and timing

  • Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage, shortages, or nonconformance

    • Report issues to the supervisor and assist with resolution

  • Deliver and route materials to appropriate departments using hand trucks, forklifts, or manual handling

  • Balance and prioritize material needs from multiple departments to ensure uninterrupted operations

  • Accurately label incoming materials and outgoing products

  • Safely transport materials between the warehouse and manufacturing facility using a box truck and/or trailer

    • Warehouse and manufacturing buildings are adjacent; no road driving required

  • Process shipping paperwork and material receipts in the ERP system using a PC or handheld scanner

  • Communicate with customer service and purchasing teams via email and phone regarding shipment status

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all procedures and safety regulations

  • Work collaboratively as part of a team

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications & Skills

  • Forklift experience (certification preferred or willingness to obtain)

  • Basic computer skills and experience working in an ERP system preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely

  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Dependable, punctual, and safety-focused
