The Senior Development Engineer will join a global team collaborating on the development of new products and processes. They will be responsible for:
- Serving as a technical project leader for new product development projects
- Brainstorming, conceptualizing, evaluating feasibility, designing, and developing new and/or significantly improving products
- Becoming an expert on conveyor productivity by visiting customer sites and gathering voice of customer information
- Collaborating with manufacturing to provide direction for prototyping and design
- Defining and coordinating field testing
Qualified applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering field
- At least 5 years of experience in a design or manufacturing engineering role with experience in mining, bulk material handling conveyors or other industrial applications preferred.
- Experience integrating sensors and other mechatronics with mechanical systems (preferred)
- Knowledge and proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
- Experience in the application of fundamental engineering principles involving the calculation of failure analysis using stress, strain, and fatigue
- Experience in designing and releasing products from the concept to launch and supporting lifecycle phases with proven ability to deliver new concepts
- Extensive knowledge of the mechanical properties of a variety of materials including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, rubbers, plastics, and urethanes
- Experience with designing and developing Electro-mechanical engineering and/or ‘smart’ products with digital IOT capabilities (preferred)
- Familiarity with traditional stage gate development process as well as agile type design processes (preferred)
