Job Expectations
Summary
This position produces plastic products through an injection molding process based on customer requirements at an established production rate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operates molding machine to rate. This may include:
- Monitoring machine running automatic.
- Operating a horizontal machine in semiautomatic mode with or without inserts.
- Operating a vertical machine which includes loading inserts and unloading finished parts.
Inspect parts to check conformance to customer specifications and record results as needed.
May remove runner, trim flash and any other minor finishing operations per inspection instructions.
Informs molding technician / shift supervisor of defective product being produced.
Packs finished parts according to specific packing instructions.
Keep production and scrap records up to date per work instructions and procedures.
Cleans up work area at shift end or job completion.
Production reporting in ERP systems
Follow 5S requirements.
Assist in problem solving and corrective actions for customer generated or initial corrective actions.
Assure proper identification all materials; includes manufactured product, hoppers, grinders and material containers.

Qualifications
Ability to perform each essential job function.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or G.E.D. National Career Readiness Certificate preferred. Zero to three months injection molding experience minimum.
Language Skills
Must be able to read, write, interpret and understand the English language. Ability to read and understand company policy handbook, work instructions and other communications. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Math Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals and to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
Close vision with or without corrective lenses. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position is required to regularly stand, sit, walk and use all four limbs.
System/Computer Requirements
Know the quality and environmental policies. Adhere to procedures and work instructions. Know where relevant system documentation is located. Practice continuous improvement. Able to use E-Mail and record production in ERP system.
