Job Description

A large pet business specializing in pet and aquatic shop fitting is seeking an Inventory Clerk to join their team.


Ideal candidate will have inventory experience, documenting short shipments, inventory cycle counts and ability to use pallet jack and lift up to 70 lbs.


This is a temp to hire position!


Monday thru Friday - 6AM to 2:30PM

Pay: $16-$18 D.O.E


Role Description:


A key element of this role will be to oversee the shipment or receipt of outgoing and incoming materials, parts, or products.  Study shipping and receiving processes for effectiveness.  Suggest improvements to procedures, and act to improve efficiency and reduce costs.  Document shipping or receiving information.  Complete reports for management.  This role requires a candidate to be motivated to carry out daily tasks on time to a high standard.



Key accountabilities - main areas of responsibility



Goods In

  • Receive in all goods delivered to the company
  • Carry out inspection of goods received – checking for damage, quantities, quality of items received
  • Check goods against supplier’s packing lists and internal purchase order for accuracy
  • Notify Production & Purchasing of any damaged goods received, place it in the quarantine section and complete appropriate paperwork
  • Ensure all stock movements are accurately recorded
  • Coordination of stock returned
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed daily

Good Out

  • Accurately pick stock items in accordance with the outgoing paperwork ensuring conformance to the internal production demands
  • Notify Inventory manager of any short shipments/short picks
  • Highlight potential stock shortage by being aware of production requirements
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed daily

Stock Control

  • Control Warehouse inventory by coordinating movement of product from production, warehouse, and shipping
  • Responsible for the goods in/out areas to comply with the Health and Safety to maintain a tidy and work environment
  • Store product in designate and labeled storage areas
  • Adjust storage areas according to requirements
  • Update location database as required.
  • Complete stock checks as required.
  • Assist with stock counts and investigate together with Stock Control department any discrepancies



  • Perform other duties as required – assisting in cage with shipping and receiving when needed
  • General warehouse maintenance and safety
  • Day to day task associated with good running of the business included but not limited to empty trash bins, clean showroom, and keep parts area clean and tidy etc.
