About the Position:
Our client is seeking a Structural Engineer to manage product application, structural integrity, and compliance with industry standards. This role involves technical communication, engineering analysis, product testing, and ensuring compliance with building codes. The ideal candidate will work in a fast-paced team environment, collaborating with sales, operations, and external stakeholders to optimize product performance and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Engineering & Compliance
Ensure structural, fire, and energy code compliance for all products.
Maintain and update span tables, load tables, uplift data, and tolerances for product performance.
Manage and update Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), LEED certifications, and ISE compliance.
Own and maintain technical documentation, including ASTM standards, FM approvals, and net-zero sustainability data.
Oversee fastener specifications, pull-out strength, shear, and diaphragm requirements.
Ensure all products meet or exceed competitor standards.
Investigate necessary testing requirements for new and existing products.
Maintain an up-to-date library of all technical documents and data sheets.
Product Development & Ownership
Lead the roadmap for product innovation and improvement.
Own the 3D modeling process for product development.
Manage the creation of new data sheets and technical documents.
Work closely with marketing to ensure product information is available in industry resources.
Collaborate with leadership (VP of Operations, VP of Sales, and President) to maintain the Product Offering Document.
Industry Education & Communication
Educate the sales team and customers on product specifications through monthly meetings.
Provide technical expertise to architects and industry professionals.
Develop and maintain a structured plan for rolling out new products.
Partner with marketing to enhance product visibility and technical resource availability.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Licensed PE preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the building products industry.
Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations (US and Canadian).
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, BIM, and 3D modeling.
Familiarity with fire, smoke, energy compliance, and sustainable building standards.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
