Estimator / Inside Sales

About the Position:
The Estimator is responsible for working closely with the Outside Sales Team, providing direct pricing support to internal and external customers on design/build and publicly bid projects using the most current pricing available. They will also ensure estimates align with the high standards of the organization. The Estimator must communicate professionally with customers and teammates via telephone and email while working accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume, and detail-oriented environment.

• Starting Pay: Up to $70K

Major Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with assigned Sales Managers to support sales efforts.

• Assist in coordinating sales packages with Sales Manager teammates.

• Help grow markets within assigned territory areas.

• Enter orders in the ERP system once a quote is signed.

• Process small orders for assigned Sales Managers, excluding warranty/customer service orders.

• Prepare estimates using contract drawings, specifications, addendums, in-house pricing, supplemental design tools, and vendor information.

• Identify exclusions, discrepancies, missing information, and obtain clarification to qualify the quotation accordingly.

• Provide adds, deducts, or alternates for estimates requiring special pricing beyond standard estimation.

• Ensure estimates reflect the most current pricing available.

• Maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and the sales team.

• Communicate with customers and the sales team to clarify scope and design intent when necessary.

• Interact with customers and Sales Managers to confirm product requirements for RFQs.

• Provide project requirements and estimate details to manufacturing and project management teams.

• Ensure customers receive timely status updates and accurate quotations. Work with Project Management when quotes convert to orders and update as needed.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience estimating exterior building products or steel buildings.

• Must have commercial experience.

• High school diploma required; Associate degree in a related field preferred.

• Limited work-related travel (typically less than two times per year).

• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to review and interpret project specifications.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

• Proficiency in in-house pricing programs and procedures.

• Computer proficiency, particularly in Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction, SketchUp, and Excel.

• Detail-oriented with strong customer service skills.

• Comfortable communicating with customers and Outside Sales via phone.

• Knowledge of PEMB product offerings.

• Basic understanding of design considerations.
