We are seeking an exceptional person to be the next Quality Manager for our client s established CNC machining/ sheet metal aerospace component manufacturing operation in Riverside, CA.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Schedule: M- F: 6:00 AM 2:30 PM

POSITION SUMMARY

This role will be responsible for refining the effective and efficient operation of Industry and Customer certification, Quality Engineering, Quality Audits, all inspection activities and other related QA functions. The Quality Manager will have direct oversight of a group of Engineers, Incoming and process inspector, totaling up to XXX associates.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Owns and is responsible for the overall Quality System for the operations at our client s Riverside facilities supporting a major Value Stream. This includes some or all of the following functions: Quality Systems, Quality Engineering, Audits, and Corrective Actions system.

  • Directs ISO, AS9100, NADCAP, ITAR and other quality compliance certifications required by customers and/or government agencies, and leads and participates in compliance audits.

  • Communicates and corresponds with customers, suppliers, employees, and management within the company regarding quality issues, problems, and complaints.

  • Manages the Quality Audit Program including External and Internal Audits, Corrective Actions and follow up.

  • Ensures Suppliers adhere to Purchase Order and Quality provision requirements. Works with Suppliers to obtain Root Cause and Corrective Actions as needed.

  • Participates in RFQ and purchase order review process; reviews, approves, and generates purchase order requirements for raw materials and all outside processing.

  • Identifies and resolves manufacturing problems that affect quality; assists manufacturing and quality engineering personnel with the interpretation of complex part prints and specifications.

  • Manages and conducts activities to support individual and team development including compensation, performance appraisals, coaching, mentoring, training, directing, and job assignments of Quality Department staff.

  • Generates Metrics for Tag Reduction, Cost of Quality, Escapes and other Quality metrics as needed to support achievement of goals and reduce non conformances.

  • Serves as liaison with manufacturing operations and engineering staff to improve product processes.

  • Creates a team atmosphere with operations, engineering and other functional groups to ensure robust and long-lasting corrective actions.

  • Ensures that quality tools and procedures are developed and applied consistently across the organization.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant Quality Management experience in an aerospace/defense with metal fab production facility

  • Minimum of 10 years in Quality and/or Lean operating environment in a highly regulated industry.

  • Strong knowledge of applicable manufacturing and quality requirements to include regulatory knowledge of AS9100/9210, ISO9001 STDS

  • Working experience in aerospace manufacturing with familiarity in CNC, Sheet Metal processes, inspection methods, coordinate measuring machines, and other measuring and test equipment.

  • Broad knowledge of inspection techniques and methods; understanding of aerospace requirements.

  • Verifiable track record of demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.

  • Blueprint reading, process controls, geometric tolerances, and application of SPC to the manufacturing process.

  • Expertise with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Lotus Notes is required.

  • Project management, business process redesigns, and benchmarking required.

  • Serving as a role model for workplace safety, team building and financial awareness.

  • Effective planning and training; decision-making and working effectively in a high-pressure environment.
