Position Summary:

We re seeking dependable individuals who can follow safety procedures and efficiently handle shipping-related tasks. Overtime may be required based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts according to safety regulations

• Recognize different types of steel and understand vendor-specific qualities; report concerns as needed

• Learn and navigate our internal ERP system

• Visually inspect materials and verify details in the ERP determine if items are purchased, for customer processing, or need to be rejected

• Take ID/OD samples for lab testing to confirm material type and specifications

• Weigh and organize steel products using safe material handling techniques in designated areas

• Load and unload trucks safely using forklift or overhead crane

• Wear proper PPE at all times and follow lock-out/tag-out procedures when required

Qualifications:

• Able to read and write clearly

• Comfortable using a tape measure

• Physically capable of standing or walking for most of the shift (90%)

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs

• Experience in a steel processing facility, shipping department, or similar industrial setting is preferred but not required
