Job Position: 1st Shift - Experience Sewing Operator

Location: Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730

Pay Rate: $18.00/hr.

Shift: 1st Shift 5:00 AM-2:30 PM

Description: A Large manufacturing plant in the Rancho Cucamonga area is seeking a Sewing operator for their helmet department.

Below are the requirements for the position:

EXPERIENCE:

Six (6) months to one (1) year experience with hand and machine sewing applications in a production environment or equivalent.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Basic/Intermediate use of single needle lock stitch, double needle lock stitch, over lock and bar tack sewing machine.

• Basic hand sewing skills

• Basic sewing machine maintenance and setup skills, includes changing needles, thread bobbins etc.

• Ability to work with various fabrics including leather

• Work order and blueprint reading skills required.

• Basic mechanical and measurement skills

• Basic Computer skills

• Basic/Intermediate oral and written skills

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Fabricates specialized paramilitary garments and accessories using production sewing equipment

• Prepares raw material/fabric for production processing using patterns/templates, drawings, and production cutting equipment

• Assembles various types of Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) using standard and specialty hand tools, power tools, or production equipment

• Measures workpiece dimensions to determine the accuracy of machine operation, and performs 1st part verification.

• Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, etc.

• Operates any equipment needed to perform the job

• Reads work orders/ MI's to determine the sequence of fabrication operations

• Sets machinery stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template

• Follows oral or written instructions including daily work sheet requirements, including computer entries of quantities, labor hours, etc.

• Maintains regular attendance and excellent punctuality

• Completes other duties as directed by the Department Supervisor
