Shop Manager Aerospace Precision Manufacturing (Direct Hire)
Location: Riverside, CA
Salary: $120,000 $140,000 + Benefits | Schedule: 6:00A -3:30P| M F

A mid-sized precision sheet metal fabrication and machining company is seeking a Shop Manager to join their team. This company is AS9100 and NADCAP Welding certified, with a modern production floor that includes Mitsubishi and Amada laser cutting machines, HAAS and Doosan milling machines, and multiple welding stations.

They are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Shop Manager to take ownership of the production floor and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of production, ensuring schedules, quality, and delivery commitments are met.

  • Manage and develop production teams; assign priorities, track performance, and implement accountability.

  • Troubleshoot production challenges while driving efficiency, throughput, and quality standards.

  • Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Optimize use of resources (personnel, equipment, and materials) to minimize downtime and costs.

  • Maintain 5S shop floor discipline, safety standards, and compliance requirements.

  • Create and implement training programs for both new hires and cross-training existing staff.

  • Track and analyze rework, scrap, and operational data to implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a technical discipline preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Minimum 5+ years in a leadership role within aerospace/defense manufacturing.

  • Strong background in CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and welding.

  • Proven experience leading Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives.

  • ERP and Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Outlook required).

  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder) due to ITAR compliance.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills; thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $120,000 $140,000, commensurate with experience.
